AXLE TAX IFTA / PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Effective October 15, 2026

Axle Tax is a trucking recordkeeping application designed to help owner-operators and drivers organize operational records such as trips, mileage, fuel purchases, IFTA information, vehicle inspection records, maintenance records, driver time records, reports, and notes.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Axle Tax may process, how that information is used, and the choices available to users.

Information You Provide

Information stored in Axle Tax may include information entered or created by the user, including:

Axle Tax does not require users to enter information into every available field. Users are responsible for deciding what information they choose to store in the application.

Account and Authentication Information

Axle Tax may allow users to create or access an account using email and password or supported third-party authentication services.

Account information may include an email address, authentication identifier, user identifier, and other basic information needed to identify and secure the user's Axle Tax account.

Google Sign-In

Axle Tax may offer Sign in with Google as an authentication option.

When a user signs in with Google, Axle Tax may receive basic account information provided through Google's authentication service, such as an account identifier, email address, name, and other basic profile information made available during authentication.

Axle Tax uses this information to authenticate the user, associate the user with an Axle Tax account, and provide account-related features such as cloud synchronization.

Axle Tax does not use Google Sign-In to access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or other private Google services.

Location Information and Optional Auto Mode

Axle Tax IFTA uses precise device location when you choose Geolocate or start an optional Auto trip. Accepting the Auto Mode disclosure and starting a trip enables timestamped location collection, including background delivery when your phone permits it, to estimate roads traveled, mileage by jurisdiction, and possible stops. Pause and End Day stop collection. Location permissions, battery settings, connectivity, and operating-system restrictions can interrupt capture. Manual entry remains available.

Location points, accuracy information, and coarse movement/stationary transitions and recovery events are encrypted on the device and synchronized to your account through Supabase when the app can connect and run. Raw motion sensor samples are not stored. Route reconstruction sends sampled coordinates from the backend to Mapbox to estimate plausible roads. Maps use Mapbox and OpenStreetMap data. Geolocate uses OpenStreetMap-based Nominatim reverse geocoding. Route estimates may contain uncertain or missing segments and require driver review and an actual ending odometer.

Cloud Storage and Synchronization

Axle Tax can store supported application records locally on the user's device.

When a user signs in and uses cloud synchronization, supported Axle Tax records may also be transferred to and stored using cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase.

Cloud-stored records are associated with the authenticated user's Axle Tax account. Cloud records may include the user's application data, account-linked records, and synchronization information needed to keep supported records consistent between devices.

Axle Tax may maintain revision, recovery, or conflict information as part of the synchronization system to reduce the risk of accidental data loss and to resolve synchronization conflicts.

Some supported data may also remain locally on the user's device so that Axle Tax can continue to operate when an internet connection is unavailable.

How Information Is Used

Information processed by Axle Tax may be used to:

Information Sharing and Service Providers

Axle Tax does not sell users' personal information.

Axle Tax does not use user information for third-party advertising or cross-company advertising tracking.

Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate Axle Tax. These may include:

Information may also be disclosed if required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.

Mapbox processes sampled coordinates for route reconstruction and provides maps used by Auto Mode.

Advertising and Tracking

Axle Tax does not contain an advertising network and does not use an advertising identifier to track users across apps or websites for advertising purposes.

Free Trial Eligibility and Subscription Access

Current versions use Apple App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Eligible new subscribers may receive a store-managed seven-day free trial. The store determines eligibility and handles payment and automatic renewal. After the trial, the subscription renews at the price displayed by the store unless canceled under the store's cancellation rules.

To verify purchases and subscription access, Axle Tax processes store transaction identifiers, purchase tokens, subscription status and expiration dates, and account-binding identifiers. These are associated with your Axle Tax account and verified with Apple or Google. Axle Tax does not receive your full payment-card details from the store.

Earlier versions offered an app-managed trial. Those trials are no longer granted. Historical eligibility records include a one-way digest of the normalized verified email address and trial start and expiration dates. Normalization removes surrounding spaces and ignores letter case. When an account is deleted, its association is removed; the limited historical eligibility record is retained without a scheduled deletion date. The digest is pseudonymous, not anonymous, and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. It does not contain saved trucking records.

After subscription access expires, existing saved records, reports, and backup export remain available, subject to signing in to the account that owns them. Active subscription or complimentary access is required to add or edit records and upload cloud changes. Expiration does not delete records. Deleting the app or your Axle Tax account does not cancel your store subscription; manage cancellation through Apple or Google Play.

Auto Mode Audit Records

Auto Mode audit records are retained separately from ordinary trip records. Deleting a displayed trip or closing an account does not automatically erase the retained audit journal. Account closure stops access and recording; retained cloud audit records remain associated with a pseudonymous account identifier. No automatic audit-record deletion schedule is currently configured. Contact axletaxsupport@gmail.com for access, export, or deletion requests; any retention needed for business records, security, disputes, or applicable obligations is reviewed separately.

Native unsynchronized journals may be lost if the app is uninstalled; export and synchronize before removing the app. Auto Mode is optional. You may pause/end a trip, revoke location or Motion & Fitness permission, use manual trip entry, and export retained audit records. Normal saved-record backups do not contain the separate native audit journal. Cloud audit export requires connectivity and account access.

Data Retention

Axle Tax records may remain stored locally on a user's device until the records are deleted, the application data is removed, or the application is uninstalled, subject to device and operating-system behavior.

When cloud synchronization is used, account data and supported cloud records may remain stored while the user's Axle Tax account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide synchronization, recovery, security, or account functionality.

Limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the security and integrity of the service.

Deleting Records and Accounts

Users may delete or modify supported records from within Axle Tax where those controls are available.

Users may also request deletion of their Axle Tax account and associated cloud account data using the in-app account-deletion control or through the official Axle Tax website. The trial-eligibility record described above is retained after account deletion. Other account deletion may be subject to limited retention where required by law, security, fraud prevention, or other legitimate legal obligations.

Deleting information from Axle Tax does not automatically delete information that a user has separately printed, exported, copied, or stored outside the application.

Security

Axle Tax uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect user information, including account-based access controls for cloud records.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

User Choices

Users may choose whether to use supported cloud account features and may control device permissions, including location access, through device settings.

A user may choose not to use the Geolocate feature and may enter trip and stop locations manually.

Users should avoid entering sensitive information into optional fields unless they want that information stored as part of their Axle Tax records.

Children's Privacy

Axle Tax is intended for commercial drivers, owner-operators, carriers, and other adult users. It is not directed toward children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Axle Tax changes or as legal and platform requirements change.

The effective date displayed at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
